Help us continue putting sports equipment in the hands of those less fortunate by donating your used sports equipment.
Leveling the Playing Field gives underprivileged children the opportunity to enjoy the mental and physical benefits of youth sports participation. We do this through the donation of used and excess sporting equipment to programs and schools serving low-income communities. Our donations allow programs to allocate funds saved by lowering registration fees, expanding their scholarship programs, enhancing their existing athletic program and/or developing new ones.
Through our sport equipment donations, we are able to maximize the benefits of participating in sports by allowing athletic programs to utilize their sports equipment funds elsewhere within their organization. The LPF recipients allocate the funds saved by lowering registration fees, expanding their scholarship programs, enhancing their existing athletic programs and/or developing new ones.
In just 5 years we have donated over $2M worth of sporting equipment to 400+ programs. Our success has been accelerated by the strong partnerships we have developed with equipment donors throughout the DMV.

How to Donate Medical Equipment
Do you have medical equipment you are thinking about donating? Great! By donating your equipment, you’ll be helping many neighbors in your community who are in need. Here are some suggestions:
Locating a loan closet program in your area:
If you are searching for a program in Michigan, Wisconsin or Northern Indiana you may go to our homepage to search for an organization. If you are searching for a program outside this area, we would like to offer you some suggestions . . .
GoodHealthwill of Colorado maintains a state-by-state list of medical equipment/health supplies recycling organizations and loan closets.
For online searches, include the name of your county (and/or city) along with your state in your search. “Loan closet” and “medical equipment lending program” often lead to programs. Instead of trying to search for a place to “donate to”, search for a loan closet program. If they loan equipment, they will probably accept donations.
Here are some National Organizations that oftentimes have loan closets. You may click on the name of the organization to find a chapter near you.
Centers for Independent Living are non-profit organizations designed and operated by people with disabilities in their communities. CILs provide a wide variety of services, sometimes including loan closets. Use the national directory to find your Center for Independent Living or learn more about CILs.
You may also want to consider donating your equipment or medical supplies to an organization that offers medical relief overseas. Places of worship may be able to help you find local programs. There are also many private overseas programs.
After you have found an organization you would like to donate to, please call them to see if they will be able to accept your piece of equipment.
Some loan closets have very little space available, and they may not have room to store your equipment. If you have a large piece of equipment, such as a hospital bed, you may be asked to hold onto it until someone requests it.
Is this a piece of equipment you would want to use if you needed it?
Please make sure your piece of equipment is in good condition. A shower chair with rusty legs can pose a safety concern for the next person using it. If your piece of equipment needs minor repair, please let the organization know about it.
Is the equipment clean?
Please make sure your equipment is clean before donating it to an organization. Your efforts will be greatly appreciated.
. Thank you for donating your equipment. There is a tremendous need for it, and you will be helping others many times over.

Thank you so much for helping me to get my wheel chair. When my chair broke I was left totally house bound for a week or more. I could not walk my dog or go grocery shopping. When I was directed to your store it was such a relief to know I could be mobile again. Lisa

In today’s world, exercise has become more important to maintain health and youth than ever. The proper fitness equipment can be a lifesaver.
Here in the United States, while we are blessed with the latest in exercise and fitness equipment, there is one big problem that has never been addressed . Once this equipment is not needed anymore, then what?
Millions of people have older exercise equipment they do not use or need. Most of us have something in the garage or closet. And this can present a dilemma.
What do we do to get rid of our old exercise equipment? The average store will not take it in trade. It s difficult to sell. Friends and family won t always take it. Sadly, millions of dollars worth of perfectly good exercise equipment is thrown away every year. Now there is a solution to this problem, and Fitness 4 Charity is the answer.
There are homes for all the used and working pieces of exercise equipment throughout the United States and abroad. There is a bigger need and demand than can be imagined. And there is more than enough equipment to go around.
Our job and mission is to fulfill the needs of children and adults that are seeking exercise equipment and instruction. Our gift to them is to do this for no charge. Our gift to you is a tax deduction. Our success depends on your donations and teamwork to give those in need a chance to take care of themselves physically. Our future is one that puts us all together in a healthy society, where the healthy are not paying for the unhealthy.

- Recipients will be asked to sign a liability release form. This is non negotiable. If you can’t sign for it, don’t apply.
- Recipients must tell us in the address form what STATE they live in. If you don’t tell us where you are, you go to the bottom of the pile.
- Recipients who are asked to pick up equipment will do so at their own expense, unless otherwise provided for.
- Recipients are taken care of on a first come, first serve basis. If you are unable to pick up equipment, or decide you don’t want something, and do not take care of this in a responsible manner, we will take the next applicant on the list.We have a very long waiting list.
